I Phone 14 release date on January 08, 2022 Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps PKSKIP NAVIGATION1:20 / 14:15Transcript[Music]is the iphone 14 launching early for thepast 10 years apple has stuck to afairly rigid iphone release cycle theyannounce it in the fall and then make itavailable within a week or two usuallybut this year might just be differentapple is expected to launch a ton of newproducts in 2022 and they might belaunching them differently than theyever had before also what if appledecided to fight back against the leaksand sort of started to leak or previewtheir devices much earlier than they'veever done before not because they wantedtobut sort of because they had no otherchoicelet me explain[Music]whether you're a fanatic apple fan or adie-hard android enthusiast basicallyanyone interested in tech knows when newiphones come out like lockwork everyyear apple has announced and releasednew iphones in the fall basically sincethe 4s back in 2011. and even beforethen the iphone was sort of the darlingof wwdc and apple would announce it atthe conference and then release it justa short time afterwards it's basicallyalways followed the exact sameannouncement and release cycle windowmostly and even now in 2021 while thereis a global chip shortage and supplychain issues apple is still workingbasically like clockwork to announce andrelease their iphones as they've donebasically for over the last 10 yearseven right now at this very moment asyou are watching this video teams arehard at work inside of apple incupertino and around the world on theirlatest and greatest iphone 14 flagshipmodel this is supposed to have no notchit's supposed to have a versatile newcamera system the all-new a16 bionicprocessor an all-new design the iphone14 is shaping up to be a really greatupgrade and actually by all accountswill be one of the biggest updates we'veseen to the iphone in a long long timethis is not the 12 to the 13 but this islike the 3gs to the 4 the 7 to the 10this is gonna be one of those monumentalyears that we will never ever forgetand even though we are still months andmonths away from an announcement andapple has actually yet to even startbuilding these iphones we already havegotten a lot of information thanks toall the leaks that have sort of leakedout from one source or another andcovering apple leaks is a fascinatingtopic there are so many differentplayers in the space there's feuds it'salways kind of hard to know who to trustand who not to trust apple leaks arefascinating and if you kind of want toknow how the iphone 14 actually leakscheck out the video we just did on thesubject up here and down below butsuffice it to say the iphone 14 hasalready started to leak and appleabsolutely hates it they don't want youto know anything about their deviceuntil they're the ones that show it offto you and while apple has beennotoriously tight-lipped about leaks andrumors they never comment on speculationor things that could be leaking on macrumors or some youtube channelother companies have not been the sameway in fact it's been really interestingto see how leaks and rumors have changedcompanies in the tech world and how somecompanies are even starting to not onlyembrace the leaks and rumors and evenpoke fun at themselves but even start tobe the source of leaks of their owndevices and this has definitely beensort of a controversial move and somesee this as sort of a good thing or abad thing some see this as techcompanies making themselves morepersonable uh more sort of okay at kindof poking fun at themselves it's kind offunny to be self-deprecating whileothers see this as just a way to sort ofdrum up hype and excitement about anupcoming product even though we're stillmonths and months away from an officialrelease one way or the other they'reboth kind of right and it sort of begsthe questionwhat if apple was to sort of adopt thisstrategy with the iphone 14 and someother future apple products we could seevery soon launching in 2022. just dreamwith me for a moment and think aboutwwdc 2022 happening in june what if atthis press conference geared towardsdevelopers that apple sort of took theirapps off the iphone 14 they showed offthat radically new radically beautifuldesign that looks super similar to theiphone 4. they showed off the lack of anotch on the iphone 14 pro they showedoff the crazy versatile new highresolution camera system and they didthis for a couple of big reasons theysort of wanted to drum up hype aboutwhat could be coming in the fall sort ofshowing off a really awesome preview andalso getting developers on board to sortof show off what technologies they hadto work with so they could sort of get ajump start sort of start developingtheir apps and tweaking them now so bythe time the phones launch in the fallthese apps would be ready to go andready to take full advantage of all theiphone 14's top new features and whileall these reasons are well and good atthe same time as an apple exec isshowing off these sleek promo shotsapple would also be sort of defeatingthe rumor mill or at least taking a lotof the hot air out of the balloon andsort of deflating the excitement aboutleaks and rumors they would be the onecontrolling the narrative they would beshowing off the iphone 14 no longerwould people be clamoring for leaks andrumors on parts and what could be comingnext because apple just showed it offyes the phone isn't coming for a fewmonths but hey apple's showing youhere's what's coming and here's why youshould get really excited right now forwhat's coming a few months later in thefall now while i think this is cool andthere are definitely some pros to thistheory and sort of it's cool to gethyped and excited and sort of see apreview before it actually launchesthere are also some causes for concernand some cons as well one of the biggestcriticisms to this approach that othertech companies do all the time is thatthey're sort of cannibalizing sales oftheir current items for consumers whoare waiting for the next big thing ifapple officially announces the iphone 14in junewhy would you buy an iphone 13 from junethrough september or october when thenew phones are coming this is definitelya very valid criticism i get it but atthe same timei don't have any data to back this upbut i really wonder how much thisactually matters because it doesn't takea rocket scientist to understand that anew iphone comes in the fall everysingle year like clockwork in septemberor october apple is going to show offthe all new iphone and it'll beavailable to pre-order usually laterthat week and then available in a weekor two from that point but again everysingle year people still go online or gointo the apple store in droves and buythe current iphone model even the newone is right around the corner even whenthe iphone 13 was announced and it wasabout to be released people were stillbuying the iphone 12 like hawk cakes atthe same time though the other obviousquestion that needs to be answered ishow much would this actually help isapple gonna really take a stand againstleaks and rumors and sort of dosomething they've never done before justto get ahead of the leaks would thisactually benefit them at all or is itbetter for them to wait till things arefinished and sort of do things on theirown timetable or at least closer to thetimetable they'd like to do things alsoif leaks and rumors would stop aroundthis point and apple was to release orat least preview the iphone 14 in junewouldn't this sort of just acceleratethe iphone 14 uh rumor and league cycleeven more and push it up even earliersince apple is supposedly startingdevelopment on it earlier wouldn't theleaks just happen earlier again a coupleof different questions here sort ofworth keeping in mind i would love tosee this strategy but i don't actuallythink apple is going to do it or atleast they don't want to do it but likei mentioned in the beginningwith some of these new products comingin 2022apple might not have a choice they mighthave to actually announce these productsmonths before they're actually ready tobe released for a couple of big reasonsin modern apple history i can sort ofthink of three good examples of applesort of adopting the strategy and sortof having to do this because they had noother choice back with the originaliphone in 2007 with the original ipadand then of course most recently withthe all-new first generation apple watchand despite the excitement on stage fromapple executives and those sleek lookingpromo videos apple really didn't have achoice they were forced to announcethese products early for a couple of bigreasons that are going to be a reallybig deal in 2022 the first was forregulatory reasons when apple enters anew product category when they made thatfirst iphone you better believe therewas going to be a lot of fcc red tape alot of regulation hoops they had to jumpthrough all around the world and stevejobs is mentioned is saying that one ofthe reasons why they showed off theiphone so early was because they knewwas going to leak through various stagesof the regulatory filing process allaround the world especially here in theus with the fcc these documents becomepublic in one way or another andeveryone would see what apple was goingto do before they officially released itthemselves that's not what apple wantsthe second reason is that apple needs toget developers on board not only withtheir own enthusiasm but also get themover to developing and getting theseapps ready for these new screen sizesand new device form factors uh theoriginal iphone obviously didn't launchwith an app store but the ipad and theapple watch did and apple wanted to givedevelopers ample time to get excitedabout these new products and also startto develop new apps and optimizeexisting apps to be pixel perfect onthese new screen sizes and these newdevices when apple you know sort of doesyear over year updates it's not usuallya big deal but when they enter newproduct category for the first timedevelopers do need a lot of time to sortof get things right and last butcertainly not least sometimes apple isjust pressured to do things that theydon't want to do because of wellexternal factors for example when theoriginal apple watch was showed off in2014 i'm not sure if tim cook actuallywanted to show off that device but therewas a whole lot of pressure for him todeliver something new somethingdeveloped entirely under his regime soto speak at apple under his leadershipbecause it had been a few years sincesteve jobs had stepped down and he hadpassed away and analysts and skepticsand everyone was wondering how good timcook was at being the creative leaderthe visionary at apple and sort of forone reason or another he was sort offorced to get that apple watch on publicdisplay and out to sort of everyone tosee months before it was actually readyto go for a number of big reasons butone of them being that he just was undera lot of pressure to show off what hecould doas he sort of took the reins at appleand sort of what apple would look likeand what new products would look likeunder his leadership there still is somepressure as to what is coming next appleis working on a lot of new productsthey're about to jump totally into somenew product categories in 2022 and someof these first major products willprobably most likely have to beannounced months before they're actuallyready to be released and go into ourhands the first example here is withapple's new mixed reality headset thisis their all-new product they'reentering a whole new product categoryand this is supposed to revolutionizethings the way that the ipadrevolutionized tablets the way theiphone revolutionized phones this issupposed to be a really big deal andwith a product as big as this apple isgoing to need a lot of time to getconsumers on board to get developers onboard and there have been a lot ofrumors and some speculation that appleis going to show this off maybe as soonas wwdc in 2022 at the appropriatelynamed developers conference apple wouldsort of show off this new mixed realityheadset to developers show off whatthey've been working on what this thingcan do and why consumers and developersalike should get excited about puttingthis thing onto their heads and theyprobably wouldn't release it until theend of 2022 maybe early 2023 but showingit off in june would give developersample time to get their apps ready forsomething that is totally different thatwe've never seen before the same conceptalso applies for the apple car as wellthis is also supposed to be one ofapple's next big things they're makingthis a brand new ultra sleek car it'sgoing to be this ev it's going to beautonomous it can drive itself with allthis full self-driving stuff it'ssupposed to be really really cool but acar as big as any car is much easier toleak out than something as small as theiphone or the apple watch which requiresa lot less extensive testing especiallyon public roads and stuff like that sothere have also been some rumors latelythat maybe apple shows this off a year ayear and a half two years early theykind of show off their vision of theapple car this is what it is this iswhat it can do this is the technologyinside this is how much it's gonna costand this is when it's actually going tomake its way onto the roads super earlybecause again they need to getdevelopers and consumers excited get alot of people to start saving money forthis thing but also the amount oftesting this is going to have to gothrough the amount of regulatory safetythings it's going to have to go throughit's going to be way easier to leak outand is going to have to go through somuch sort of public testing in one wayor another that if apple wants to reallykeep things secret and sort of uh underuh their cloak that they like to they'regoing to be forced to sort of show itoff earlier at least show off a previewmonths if not years before it actuallymakes its way onto the road not becausethey want to but again for one reason oranother sort of because they don't haveanother choice so what are your thoughtson this what if apple was a little bitmore like google and was playful withthe leaks and rumors what if they sortof embraced the leaks or they showed offthe devices early themselves do youthink there's a winning strategy herefor apple to show off devices early andsort of show off the iphone 14 at a hugepreview and then release it months lateror do you think apple needs to sort ofput their nose to the grindstone ignorethe leaks nor the rumors put theirblinders on and just build the iphone asbest they can and as secretly as theycan and just announce it and release itsort of as they've done for many manyyears what are your thoughts on thisshould apple embrace the leaks or notshould they give us a little preview alittle taste of what could be comingearly or to stick to what they've beendoing for years let me know in thecomments down below your thoughts onthis and as always i appreciate youwatching thank you so much i'm robertrosenfeld from the apple circle and iwill see you all in the next one[Music]youiPhone 14: Releasing EARLY321,278 viewsDec 19, 2021 Comments
